Used Lawn Mowers

Used Lawn Mowers can be an affordable way to make sure that you keep your yard of any size in top condition and looking food for your family, friends and neighbors. For anyone with a yard, owning a lawnmower is necessary unless you can afford the convenience of paying someone to mow your lawn. Depending on the type of mower and the features you want, buying one can be expensive. You can save some money by buying a used lawn mower.

There are several places online where you can buy used lawn mowers. eBay is probably the most common place. E-commerce sites like Amazon.com can also carry used products. The problem here is two-fold. First, it’s difficult to judge the condition and performance of a mower through a short text description or even through a photo. Unless the seller is very thorough, you are taking a bit of a gamble since you can’t be absolutely sure what you are buying. Second, the shipping or freight costs for something as large as a mower may be significant. If you do choose to buy one online, do your research to understand exactly what model it is, what it would cost you to buy it new, what it’s worth new, and exactly what the condition is and any known problems.

The better way to buy a used mower is to find someone in or near your hometown selling one. In most cities, your local craigslist site will be a great place to look. In all but the smallest towns, probably at least 10 mower are being offered for sale right now on craigslist. Some will have photos and long detailed descriptions whereas others may just describe it in a single sentence. It’s important to understand what your needs are in a lawnmower and then shop carefully on craigslist. Feel free to ask the seller additional questions. Don’t feel pressured to buy now since a new batch of mowers will probably be listed for sale in a week. The real advantage of craigslist is that you can go check out the mower before committing to buy it. In addition to seeing it in person, you should be able to start the engine and perhaps even mow some grass to ensure that it works properly! If you go see a mower that you have a bad feeling about, don’t feel pressured to buy it!
